| During emergencies, the ability to quickly account for the status of personnel is mission-critical. DoD Instruction 3001.02 “Personnel Accountability in Conjunction With Natural or Manmade Disasters“ and Air Force Instruction AFI 10-218 “Personnel Accountability in Conjunction with Natural Disasters or National Emergencies” provide clear policy and guidance for establishing and maintaining personnel accountability in the event of emergency situations. The compliance to these instructions by all components of the DoD is mandatory for all military installations worldwide. With most military commands having many tens of thousands of personnel geographically dispersed, both on- and off-base, reaching and accounting for them quickly in times of emergency poses enormous challenges. |

IWSAlerts provides a single, unified console for managing, triggering and controlling the emergency notification and personnel accountability process across all delivery devices and geography. Alerts can be activated in seconds, reaching tens of thousands of people, based on their geography and organization, within minutes.
A key capability of AtHoc IWSAlerts that supports personnel accountability requirements is the ability to track and manage user responses to the emergency alerts. These alerts can be sent to personnel with various response options. When an individual acknowledges a message with a response option, IWSAlerts captures and stores it in a central repository with timestamp and delivery information. A real-time dashboard also displays aggregated data for all personnel, allowing commanders to track the progress of notifications and obtain basic accountability status. The system supports access by operators at the Unit/Wing, Installation, NAF and MAJCOM levels, providing alerting and accountability reports for all personnel at the respective levels. IWSAlerts fully leverages existing investments in user data management by integrating with multiple personnel directories such as MilPDS, CivPDS and Active Directory. Personnel can also take advantage of the Self-Service capabilities which allow end users to update their own contact details when needed.
