| Of all the threats that military and commercial installations and facilities face,
weather incidents are by far the most common. Recent history illustrated the substantial damage that extreme
weather can cause, and facilities need to take steps in protecting their personnel and equipment from harm.
Whether it be tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, earthquakes or even tsunamis, such severe weather can cause
enormous damage to property and be extremely dangerous to people. |
|
| Pro-actively alerting personnel before such calamities strike is of the utmost
importance in order to protect people and property. |
|
| AtHoc’s Weather Alerts Module for IWSAlerts and C2Alerts integrates with the National Weather Service’s
Emergency Managers Weather Information Network (NWS/EMWIN) to receive relevant critical information such as
weather warnings, watches and forecasts - and automatically sends it to emergency managers who can then qualify
the threat and activate an emergency notification alert to the broader group of affected personnel. |
|
| Other sources of weather information can also be integrated with the Weather Alerts Module, including those from the United States Geological Survey (USGS), FEMA and Department of Homeland Security. |
