Background and Need
Because an emergency alerting system is only as good as the accuracy of the contact information contained in its database, the ongoing updating of personnel contact information is a critical part of any emergency notification system. Large organizations typically have numerous repositories that house this data, including HRMS systems, LDAP/Active Directory and within the DoD, numerous military, contractor and civilian databases. Integrating with these repositories is paramount for a successful notification system.
Personal information is always regarded as highly sensitive. Insuring the security of this data is of paramount importance. Therefore any integration with an organizational user directory, and any consequential storage of this information in a notification system, must be handled in a highly secure manner.
Capabilities Overview
The AtHoc IWSAlerts Personnel Data Integration Module (PDIM) ensures accurate and updated personnel contact information is available by continuously and automatically synchronizing with multiple organizational user directories. The PDIM can be installed behind the firewall of the organization thereby assuring that access to the organizational user directory is handled in a very secure manner without requiring opening such access to external systems. PDIM, in turn, is able to communicate only relevant information securely to the AtHoc IWSAlerts database.
