AtHoc Mobile Notifier Apps for Unified Emergency Communications

Overview

With an increasingly mobile and smartphone enabled population, AtHoc is leveraging the latest mobile technologies for rapid mass notification and personnel accountability. AtHoc Mobile Notifier™ is a powerful and innovative mobile application providing significant advantages to the mobile operator, first responders, and alert recipients, including the ability to activate panic and mass alerts, track personnel and safety status via a Common Operating Picture (COP), geo-based alert targeting, and first responder collaboration.

The AtHoc mobile application functionalities apply to most popular devices, including Android smartphones and tablets, the iPhone, iPad, select BlackBerry devices and the AtHoc Mobile Notifier* can be downloaded on iTunes or from AndroidPit.

AtHoc Mobile Notifier apps, combined with AtHoc’s award-winning unified, net-centric technology significantly enhance an organization’s ability to reach first responders and personnel during the most extreme conditions. AtHoc mobile apps include one-click “Panic” duress buttons, and user location tracking among other features, extending the reach and increasing the capabilities of AtHoc IWSAlerts.

Benefits to the Mobile Alert Recipients

  • Recipients will have the ability to provide feedback when receiving intrusive audio/visual pop-up alerts on their mobile device screens and speakers, in addition to telephony, text, and email notification capabilities
  • Capture of geographical location as recipients reply to notifications, thereby enabling operators to identify the position of users who require assistance (i.e. reply with “need help”)
  • Geographical alert targeting based on real-time location information captured from a recipient’s mobile app (subject to proper privacy rules and settings)
  • Location tracking on a continuous or on-demand basis of first responders or other designated personnel provides a high level of situational awareness
  • One-click “Panic” duress capabilities enabling end users to immediately notify security personnel if in harm’s way or to report an emergency situation
  • Attach multimedia videos or images from the scene to further assist security personnel

All user location tracking and geo-targeting is available only if users opt-in and enable this feature on their smartphone and tablet devices, subject to all applicable privacy rules. In addition, AtHoc IWSAlerts operators or first responders can now activate and control the system directly from their mobile app.

Benefits to the Mobile Operator or First Responder

  • Activate mass or targeted alerts while in the field and reach recipients more quickly. Such alerts can contact all users and activate all devices connected to AtHoc IWSAlerts, including telephony, desktops, mobile phones, outdoor sirens, indoor PA and more
  • Activate mass notification devices based on proximity, for example, all sirens that are within a mile of the current location of the field operator
  • Submit a quick field report that can be delivered up the chain of command
  • One-click “Panic” duress capabilities to immediately notify security personnel if in harm’s way or to report an emergency situation
  • Attach multimedia videos or images from the scene to further assist first responders in route

AtHoc’s third-generation solution is leveraging the latest smart mobile devices, expanding enterprise-wide physical security and force protection, public safety, personnel accountability, and personnel recall capabilities. This newest technology will help local, state and national government, first responders and all of those charged with protecting people, property and infrastructure to be ready to respond rapidly to any threat.
