The U.S. Coast Guard's New Alert System, Based on Athoc's IWSAlerts Garners a 2010 Government Security News (GSN) Award
With the introduction of its new "network-centric" Alert and Warning System (AWS) 2.0, the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) has implemented a unified, emergency mass notification solution that can quickly alert 50,000 personnel via phone, SMS/text messages to mobile devices, e-mail and fax. AWS 2.0 was built on Athoc's IWSAlerts application, providing unifying architecture which allows deployment in a centralized data center. The judges in GSN's homeland security awards program have awarded the winner's trophy to the U.S. Coast Guard in the "Maritime/Seaport Security Program, Project or Agency" category. This system has demonstrated its capabilities by managing federal responses to crises, including earthquakes in Haiti and American Samoa and in the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill.

U.S. Coast Guard Wins Government Computer News' Award for Emergency Mass Notification System Based on AtHoc Technology
U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Wins Government Computer News (GCN) Agency Award for its Enterprise-Wide Alert and Warning System 2.0 (AWS 2.0). The USCG is being recognized by GCN for "Outstanding Information Technology Achievement in Government" for its AWS 2.0, which is built on AtHoc's IWSAlerts net-centric emergency mass notification solution. The system is being used by more than 100 Coast Guard facilities to send alerts to 50,000 Coast Guard personnel and the maritime community.
