AtHoc to Resell Hormann America’s Public Warning Systems and Integrate them Within the AtHoc Management Console
|
Burlingame, CA. (May 31, 2007) – AtHoc, Inc. today announced the company has partnered with Hormann America to
integrate the IWSAlerts™ emergency alerting system with Hormann America’s products for public alerting. Through
this partnership, AtHoc can now trigger alerts to Hormann America products through AtHoc’s Web-based management
console. Now a single alert activation used to send alerts to network-connected devices through the AtHoc system
can also send an alert simultaneously to warning systems deployed by Hormann America, including sirens, public
address (PA) systems and interfaces to the Emergency Alert System (EAS).
"An effective emergency alerting strategy involves invoking all forms of alerting channels at the same time.
Historically, network-based products and traditional hardware systems were complementary but couldn’t interoperate
or launch simultaneously from one console. This wasted precious time and made it difficult to ensure the same
information went out through all channels," commented Guy Miasnik, president and CEO of AtHoc. "By partnering
and creating an end-to-end integration between AtHoc’s alerting system and Hormann America’s public warning
systems, we’ve made it possible to activate AtHoc and Hormann America’s alerting channels through a single Web
interface. This saves time and reduces system maintenance and administration costs."
The partnership between the companies includes an integration of their respective technologies, and AtHoc will
resell Hormann America’s products and services. The partnership has already led to joint successes, including a
deployment at Hawaii State Civil Defense.
"We’re happy AtHoc decided to partner with Hormann America to provide this comprehensive, state-of-the-art
offering for all types of organizations and facilities,” said Efraim Petel, president of Hormann America.
"This type of alerting integration has been implemented at Hawaii and California, and we look forward to
providing this integrated solution to agencies and organizations across the nation. The combined, open
architecture, Common Alert Protocol (CAP) based system can integrate with the new national warning initiatives
that the Department of Homeland Security started to deploy lately.”
