Sees Measurable Increase in Repeat Visits to Web Site by Targeted Physicians

BURLINGAME, CA—November 27, 2004—WebMD, the largest online provider of healthcare resources, has launched AtHoc to enable the targeted delivery of valuable medical research and related healthcare content directly to physicians based on their field of interests. Physicians benefit by having immediate access to the latest updates to medical content relevant to their practice specialty, and WebMD benefits by seeing measurable increase in physician's return visits to the site.

AtHoc expands the delivery of WebMD's content beyond the web site by anchoring a branded dynamic toolbar onto the physician's web browser. Based on the physician's self-selected profile, medical news headlines and titles of the latest WebMD articles related to the physician's practice specialty are automatically populated onto the toolbar. Whenever new headlines or titles are available, the Toolbar highlights indicating to the physician that new information is available for immediate use. This dynamic content delivery is achieved by displaying WebMD-provided RSS feeds that are routed to the appropriate users, based on their self-selected profile, by the AtHoc Notifications Server. These proactive information access and targeted content delivery help increase the value and relevancy of WebMD's content.

Ramon Pinero, Solutions Manager of AtHoc, observes, "Through the AtHoc subscriptions management engine, which can automatically assign content feeds to individuals based on their topics of interest, we are able to remove information clutter such that only relevant content to a physician's interest immediately surfaces."

WebMD is using AtHocT Hosted Service, providing full-service outsourced offering for alerts, content delivery and RSS management solutions. AtHoc Enterprise Notifications Suite is also available as stand-alone software installed in corporate networks.

WebMD joins the list of customers who have benefited from AtHoc's solutions. Other customers who have licensed AtHoc include eBay, Boeing, PricewaterhouseCoopers and the U.S. Strategic Command.
