Network-Centric Emergency Notification Systems Protecting Personnel on U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Joint Forces and Intelligence Networks
|
BURLINGAME, Ca. (July 7, 2008) AtHoc, Inc., the pioneer and leader in network-centric emergency notification systems, today announced the latest version of AtHoc IWSAlerts™ has now been successfully deployed on all major Department of Defense (DoD) networks. Current AtHoc IWSAlerts deployments support the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Joint Forces and the intelligence community.
AtHoc IWSAlerts 6.1 has been deployed on the following networks:
| • |
NIPRNET (Unclassified but Sensitive Internet Protocol Router Network) |
 |
| • |
NMCI (U.S. Navy/Marine Corps Intranet) |
 |
| • |
SIPRNET (Secret Internet Protocol Router Network) |
 |
| • |
JWICS (Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System) |
“Individual military services are deploying the AtHoc IWSAlerts emergency notification system centrally for entire commands supporting tens of thousands of personnel, as well as at individual installations,” said Andy Anderson, vice president of defense sector operations for AtHoc. "And because the system has been authorized to work across the military services and intelligence community, it is also supporting joint operations that are increasingly becoming a hallmark of how our military operates.”
The Army Certificate of Networthiness is the most recent certification received for AtHoc IWSAlerts version 6.1. This certification was granted by the Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) which evaluated AtHoc’s network-centric emergency notification system, performing tests to ensure the new software version is secure, supportable, sustainable and compatible with Army networks. NETCOM granted the certificate, and now any Army installation has the requisite authority to install and operate AtHoc IWSAlerts Version 6.1 on any Army network.
To date, approximately 385,000 Air Force personnel and 400,000 Navy personnel are protected by AtHoc IWSAlerts across multiple military networks. Numerous Army installations domestically and in southwest Asia have also deployed the emergency alerting solution.
With its network-centric approach, AtHoc IWSAlerts manages the entire alerting process to all delivery media using a single management application. Within an average of one minute, emergency alerts appear on PCs as intrusive audio/visual desktop alerts and they are also delivered to landline and mobile telephones, PDAs, Giant Voice and siren systems. With its enterprise-class capabilities, AtHoc IWSAlerts provides a Web-based management system that controls all capabilities across the underlying delivery systems from notification, scenarios, permissions, user contact information and alert tracking. It also provides a feedback capability that allows organizations to see who has acknowledged receipt of the alert and their status.
