BURLINGAME, Ca. (August 08, 2006) - AtHoc, Inc. today announced the company will be exhibiting within the Microsoft booth at AFCEA's 2006 LandWarNet Conference in Fort Lauderdale.
The event, to be held August 22-24 at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention Center, is co-sponsored by AFCEA International, the Army Chief Information Officer (CIO/G-6), NETCOM/9th ASC and The Signal Regiment. It is a valuable forum to bring government and industry together to openly communicate commercial best practices and government technology implementations.
AtHoc will be exhibiting in Microsoft's booth (Booth 1001) where the company will highlight its work performed throughout the Department of Defense helping the Services better protect their installations through network-centric emergency alerting.
AtHoc IWSAlerts provides bases with the ability to send alerts to a computer screen, cell phone or personal digital assistant (PDA) whenever a threat is identified. Threats can range from terror warnings to an approaching tornado. The alerts, in the form of pop-up windows, describe the potential threat, categorize the threat level and include instructions for action. An audio alert also automatically sounds over the computer's speakers. AtHoc IWSAlerts can guarantee connected users will see and hear the alerts within an average of one minute after the alert is sent.
"LandWarNet provides us with a valuable opportunity to connect with Army leadership to discuss our technology and the direction of the emergency management and notification market," said Ly Tran, vice president of business development at AtHoc. "AFCEA events are always valuable from a networking standpoint. It serves as an opportunity to speak face-to-face with the people in the Army tasked with force protection - a group that can truly benefit from our installation warning system."
