Burlingame, CA ( September 13, 2005) - AtHoc, Inc. today announced that the Air Education Training Command (AETC) has selected AtHoc IWSAlerts™ to meet its critical alerting needs for force protection, operational readiness and anti-terror warnings. Vance Air Force Base (AFB) in Oklahoma is the first AETC base to fully deploy the product to provide base-wide networked mass notifications. AtHoc IWSAlerts™ is already installed and in use on base, and it is helping Vance comply with Air Force-specific requirements for installation-wide warning systems as outlined in Air Force Instruction (AFI) 10-2501. Randolph AFB in Texas, the location of AETC headquarters, has already purchased the offering and is in the process of implementing the product.

Using AtHoc IWSAlerts, AETC can send alerts to all computers connected to the bases' networks whenever a threat is identified. Threats can range from terror warnings to an approaching tornado. The alerts, in the form of pop-up windows accompanied by an audio alarm, describe the potential threat, categorize the threat level and include instructions for action. These alerts comply with signals and messaging specifications appropriate to Force Protection Conditions (FPCONs), watches, warnings, evacuation routes, battle staff directives and other federal, Department of Defense (DoD), USAF and AETC-specific emergency notifications.

AtHoc IWSAlerts™ will help the bases make sure that dangerous situations are dealt with appropriately to keep personnel safe. Vance AFB has already integrated the network alerting system with its outdoor sirens, so it can launch alerts through the siren and over the network with a single push of a button. Now people know about the threat and have instructions for action within a minute of the alert being sent - whether they are outdoors or inside sound-proof buildings and bunkers.

"Vance AFB can now use AtHoc IWSAlerts™ to contact its full staff in an average of one minute. In emergencies, seconds count, and we're making it possible for the base to quickly reach a broad audience with clear instructions for action. This capability will also be rolled out at Randolph soon," said Guy Miasnik, AtHoc's president and CEO. "While helping the bases protect personnel, we're also helping them comply with Department of Defense and Air Force-specific FSTR readiness requirements."

AtHoc IWSAlerts™ is one of the few commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) networked alerting systems that have received Defense Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Process (DITSCAP) certification and the only one to receive Certification to Operate (CTO) and Approval to Operate (ATO) on AETC's network. The solution includes provisions for secure communication, authentication and encryption using DoD and industry-standard PKI-encryption technologies.

AtHoc recently announced the general availability of AtHoc IWSAlerts™ v6.1. The product is a DoD-specific application of the company's flagship and market-proven Enterprise Notifications Suite.
