AtHoc - Emergency Mass Notification & Alerting Systems

AtHoc Wins Security Products’ 2010 New Product of the Year Award

AtHoc IWSAlerts Solution Is Recognized for Innovation and Feature-Rich Capabilities for Mass Notification and Emergency Alerting

SAN MATEO, Calif. (November 1, 2010) – AtHoc, Inc., the pioneer and leader in network-centric emergency mass notification systems, was selected by Security Products magazine to receive its 2010 product of the year award. The award honors the outstanding product development achievements of security equipment manufacturers whose products are considered to be particularly noteworthy in their abilities to improve security.

This year, more than 90 entries were received, a 40 percent increase over entries received in 2009. “We were excited to receive so many great entries. The technology introduced this year is pretty amazing,” said Ralph C. Jensen, Security Products Editor-in-Chief.

AtHoc technology enables government and commercial organizations to (1) notify their personnel of a threat using personal devices – phones, desktop, mobile – and mass communications devices such as sirens, display boards and social networks; (2) account for personnel by directly communicating with them and providing management with detailed information of their status; (3) recall personnel based on specific criteria (i.e. location, role, availability), and (4) capture personal emergency events (i.e. Panic Button) from individuals under threat and automatically alert the appropriate security personnel.

“We are proud of the recognition given to AtHoc IWSAlerts by Security Products magazine. The fact that the recognition comes from experts in the field of security makes the award especially noteworthy,” said David Box, Director of Marketing for AtHoc. “AtHoc IWSAlerts represents the highest levels of innovation using network-centric mass notification technology. It has been proven in deployments as diverse as a large university campus to a U.S. Army forward operating base in Iraq. AtHoc is the number one provider of network-centric mass notification technology to the federal government, covering 40 percent of its personnel. Our solution has been used successfully to alert those in danger in real-world events including the recent active shooter incidents at Ft. Bliss and the University of Texas at Austin.”

In addition to being honored at Security Products Virtual Event 2010, AtHoc and other winners were presented with awards at ASIS in Dallas, October 12-14. Awardees will be featured on Security Products’ leading industry Website, http://www.secprodonline.com, and will be featured in the December 2010 issue of Security Products magazine.
