AtHoc Fire & Life Safety

New-Generation Alerting Solutions

Overview and Benefits

Traditionally, the fire alarm was the only safety warning device commonly used in organizations. Fire, as well as growing awareness of terror acts and natural disasters, raises the need for every business to safeguard their personnel with a more effective emergency communications system.

AtHoc’s award-winning life safety solution combines with market-leading fire systems and fulfills the requirements for UL2572-compliant Distributed Recipient Mass Notification System (DRMNS) in the NFPA 72-2010/2013 Fire Alarm and Signaling Code. The integration of conventional fire alarms with emergency communication systems is a recent fire code addition (NFPA 72-2010/2013 and UFC 4-021-01). AtHoc also satisfies the DoD Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) 2010 requirements for Net-Centric Alerting System (NCAS).

The AtHoc system receives triggers via fire panels, initiates targeted indoor voice alerts using fire system speakers, and triggers alerts to the population though a multitude of redundant devices, such as PCs, smartphones, digital displays, sirens, walkie-talkies, email, SMS/text, phones, and many others. With the capacity to override the fire alarm, this system also complies with NFPA 72 regulations and UL2572 requirements.

AtHoc’s new-generation solution powers advanced crisis management through mass interaction, rich multimedia information, mobile freedom of movement, and shared 360° situation visibility among emergency response teams. Through personnel status tracking, critical situational assessment and actionable communication, AtHoc speeds crisis response, delivering early incident control and resolution from fire as well as protection from a full range of threats: natural disasters (severe weather, earthquakes, floods), human-caused crises (hazardous chemical spills, terrorist attacks) and pandemic health emergencies.

AtHoc’s Comprehensive Solution Delivers:

Integration with common fire alarm panels allows initiation of zoned voice and strobe alerts, as well as the activation of DRMNS and mass communication devices upon receiving events from the fire alarm systems.

Rapid, mass interactive alerts can be sent in real-time through a number of redundant channels and devices, safeguarding every person across widespread complexes from fire, natural disasters, and man-made threats, speeding crisis response directly to the incident.

AtHoc delivers 2-way communications, keeping the organization informed of all alert recipients’ status. Using closed-loop capabilities, alert responses determine user location and condition, giving decision-makers crisis insight with crucial shared situational awareness during an emergency.

Leading-edge incident visibility tools power informed decisions and actionable information, effectively directing events in an emergency, bringing rapid, early control and resolution to any incident.

The AtHoc Advantage

The AtHoc solution integrates with all leading fire systems and serves as the UL2572-compliant Distributed Recipient Mass Notification System (DRMNS) component, an NFPA 72-2010/2013 Ffire Alarm and Signaling Code recommendation. AtHoc also fulfills the role of Net-Centric Alerting System (NCAS) as outlined in the 2010 UFC code for the Department of Defense. This solution can override the fire alarm (per specific risk analysis), complying with NFPA 72 regulations and UL2572 requirements.

Through a single, unifying web-based console, AtHoc triggers, manages, tracks, and controls the entire emergency communication process, sending alerts via multi-modal communication channels to notify thousands of people in minutes, across widely dispersed geographic locations. Devices include mobile and smartphones, computer popups, IP phones, landlines, SMS text, email, social media, sirens, PA systems, digital displays, fire alarms, walkie-talkies, and more — reaching anyone, anywhere, in real-time.

Security personnel or a student can report a crisis with geo-tagged information to the facility operations center with a single click on their smartphone using the AtHoc IWS Mobile app.

AtHoc delivers freedom and control when and where you need it. Launch or receive alerts on your smartphone with the AtHoc mobile application (iOS and Android platforms), an integral part of our end-to-end crisis communication solution.

Pre-defined notification scenarios help streamline and expedite the alert process.

AtHoc’s seamless interoperability with industry-leading systems leverages existing infrastructure and increases return on investment for the customer. AtHoc solutions integrate with non-IP based systems and those adopting industry standards such as OASIS Common Alerting Protocol (CAP).
