Position

AtHoc is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our Sales Engineer team to work with customers and prospects in delivering the next generation of enterprise notification systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assess potential application of company products or services and offer solutions that meet customer needs
  • Perform a variety of tasks relating to project management and product implementation, including:
    • Product demonstrations, in-depth explanations of product functionality, implementation support, "proof-of-concept" projects and training
  • Provide technical training to clients and communicate customer feedback to product development team
  • Lead on-premise product pilots and evaluations
  • Help to generate new business and ensure growth of existing accounts
  • Interface with potential clients and do any technical work needed to "win the deal"
  • Establish and maintain customer relationships at the senior executive and departmental levels within a customer’s organization
  • Use technical knowledge of product offerings to support and build sales
  • Review and update assigned objectives and strategies with management and the sales accounting team
  • Author the technical solution portions of proposal responses

Requirements

  • 5 years of proven relevant experience with strong references
    • Should have experience working with government accounts; preferably DoD / DHS accounts
  • U.S. Citizenship, preferably with Secret Clearance
  • Willingness to travel 50-75%
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in order to effectively communicate value propositions at multiple levels within the customer’s organization
  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-technical audiences
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within software development lifecycle
  • Willingness to interact and work directly with customers
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong knowledge of technologies including: HTTP, SQL server 2005/2008, IIS server, ASP, VB, XML, .Net, SQL, COM, Windows 7 / Vista / Server 2003 / Server 2008

Education

  • B.S. or equivalent experience
  • Engineering / technology background is strongly weighted
